Great for kids
Well, I have to admit that I was very skeptical about this rugby program. All that I had ever seen was this rough and tumble game that I didn't want my kid involved with. But what they are doing with the kids in Youth Rugby here is not the same. They are playing a "tag" game this year that will use flags instead next year. My fears were for nothing and the kids are really having a good time. I would encourage more kids to get involved because it is good exercise (not too demanding) and you can see already that the kids are learning. I am sure the coaches wouldn't mind if any kids came in late and this goes until sometime in July. It's ok if you have to be out for vacation or something. If you want something new for your children to try (two evenings a week) then come out and see. There weren't enough kids in the lower 1 through 3 grades for this year, but enough others up to 7th. The movie on the website tells a good story and I think this program will grow well here too once more people get to know about it.

I forgot to say that kids don't have to be particularly athletic to be involved. I know my daughter isn't very athletic, or hasn't been, but she is enjoying this. She is able to pass and catch and run with the ball just like the rest of them. I think that this may be a good opportunity for some kids that otherwise would never get to play a sport.
